help! dual booting with redhat 7.3 and XP
I have 7.3 installed on my pc currently and would like to install XP to have a dual boot system. I already tried removing 7.3 by erasing it's disk partitions with fdisk. Then I tried to install XP but during the installation process XP needed to reboot and linux's GRUB booter was still on my system! Needless to say the XP installation never finished :(
How can I remove GRUB from my disk and then make XP and 7.3 work in harmony? Thanks, |
first boot up with the disk that has fdisk on it
then run: fdisk /mbr this will erase your master boot record without hurting your WinXP install. Then after finishing the XP install reinstall Redhat and whichever boot loader you pick will autodetect the XP install and everything will be ok |
