(code segments from the logfile)
Code:
[Message] Kernel Module : Trying to install a precompiled kernel module.
[Message] Kernel Module : Precompiled kernel module version mismatched.
[Message] Kernel Module : Found kernel module build environment, generating kernel module now.
... could it be that the kernel module is for a different kernel?

Code:
2.6.20-1.2933.fc6-i586
Why are you using the i586 kernel?
If your machine is i686 capable, then this is the kernel you want. Replace using the kernel fix script. See: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Bugs/FC6Common

Why are you using the ati installer? You should be installing the rpm from livna (via yum).

# yum install kmod-fglrx

Well, you have to uninstall the official ati one from it's install program.
Quote:
ATI recommends you uninstall the ATI Proprietary Linux Graphics Driver before installing a newer version
... from:https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206...35.5-inst.html
... look for uninstall instructions on the above site.

However, there is an issue you need to be aware of: read the sticky in the fedora subforum about how the official method can break your X configuration.
