help - can't install RH9

Hi there,

I am trying to install RH9.

I reinstalled WinME.

Resized partition with 'parted' utility.
I have 10GB disk and I devided it half to half. About 4.8 Gb for Linux.

I started installation CD. (Purchased)

When it gets to installing packages, there is always an error:

"There was an error installing 'filename'. This can indicate media failure, lack of disk space, and/or hardware problems. This is a fatal error and your install will be aborted. Please verify your media and try your install again."

I tried 4 times.
Every time there is a problem with different file!!!

My computer:
eMachine 633is
10 GB HDD
192 MB memory

Can anyone help me?

Thanks.

hi

i had this same problem and tracked it to bad RAM. i had windows working on the other drive and it randomly crashed. redhat installation wouldnt work at all. make sure your memory is good.if it fails on random files this is probably a memory issue. change the RAM chip with your friends one or something and check again

You're the man.
That was a memory problem.

Thanks,

I have another problem though. Monitor. See my other post.
