HELP, A Internal Netowrk through a ROUTER (setting up linux to see the net)
Hello i have a high speed internet from a CABLE ISP,a nd i share the internet using an router (netgear RT-314). My Win Pc's all recive internal Ip addresses through which they connect to each other and the router (192.168.0.*) so the routher takes one ip from the ISP and shares it among the PCs how do i set up linux to become a part of this set up.
heres what i have done
i installed my network adapter and ran the internet connection wizard. I can connect to the internet but, i no longer get the graphical login screen, and when i start x server it says somehting about GNOME not working probaly cuase there is something that needs to be added in the /etc/hosts file.... (dhhcp5)...........WHAT the hell does that mean, and i dont have nimarl fuctionality of my gnome interface...please help me set this up right
1. high speed internet via cable
2. shared internet through a router which acts as the DHCP server and destrributes internal ip's
and the problem i have mention above....
THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY...PLease help i'm new :(
