headfone not working with my Laptop

Hi everyone,

I just installed fedora core 9.I was using windows Xp before i installed fedora 9 into my Laptop (TOSHIBA A135-S7404) and my Desktop.to my surprise my headfone works on the desktop but I cant get it working on my Laptop.I av tried all my best possible to fix it but i coudn't.
My questions are :

1 how can I can fix this problem
2 where can i check if any of my required hardware driver is not installed (you know like in windows there is a place where u can check if a particular hardware is installed or not.

Do your internal laptop speaker working ??

yes I could listen to my multimedia with my internal speakers,its only the headphone that refuses to work with linux,whereas it worked when i was using window OS
