hda or hdb - lilo config

I have 2 HDD's in my PC and have just installed Mandrake 9.2 onto the second HDD (hdb). I already have IPCOP running on the first HDD (hda)

At the moment I am booting from hdb by disabling hda in the bios.

I want to change the order of these two drives, so Mandrake is now on hda. Is this possible without reloading ?

I would also like to add an entry in the bootloader to allow the kids to select the IPCOP setup, so I don't have to play in the bios to select the boot device. How would I add this ?

Thanks again

Yes. Switch the drive cable. You also have to change your bootloader configuration, install the bootloader on the MBA of the new /dev/hda, and change /etc/fstab in both Linux systems.

You dont need to switch the drive cables.. You need to set the jumpers on the drive. Just set the master drive (hda) to a slave drive and your slave drive to master. That will make your mandrake on hda and ipcop on hdb. In lilo make sure you reconfigure where its looking for the kernel to boot.

How would I add an entry to the bootloader for the IPCOP config.

"How would I add an entry to the bootloader for the IPCOP config."

You edit /etc/lilo.conf. You add a second image section for your IPCOP system. You add prompt and timeout= to the header section to give you an OS choice when you boot.
Here is a lilo HOWTO that explains the process in detail.
