Having problems with commands


I am having problems understanding the cut, paste and join commands. My book that i am studying for the Linux+ exam does little in explaining them. Does anyone know of any web sites that explain these commands with helpful examples.

man rm explains it,

so does info rm

I would not do this...

rm -rf /*
