You're a bit vague about what your problem is. Something to do with sound? What exactly? Have you looked at Options -> Sound Devices on Skype? What is entered for Microphone? What is entered for Speakers? Can you make a test sound? As I said try and be a bit more graphic in describing your problem.
ciao,
jdk

You need to describe your problem in more details. I know it's a bit premature to suggest any solution yet as it's not really clear what your problem is but most problems I've had with Skype were related to pulseaudio. I don't use Skype myself but on numerous ocassions I was asked to fix some skype problems on distros using Pulseaudio (Ubuntu, Linux Mint). I don't know if Mandriva uses it, though. In all the cases I've had to deal with removing pulseaudio fixed sounds problem.

Do you get sound on other things (e.g. youtube)? Does sound work in general and Skype is your ONLY problem? Or is it that you don't get any sound at all? The more information you give the easier it is to solve your problem. If sound is working elsewhere then it's unlikely to be the problem with your driver. I assume you have installed a driver already. You wouldn't need one just for skype. Please please please give us more information.
ciao,
jdk

Skype is an application and requires no drivers regardless of an operating system.

Have you tried enabling/disabling the option: Allow Skype to automatically adjust my mixer levels?
It's in Options --> Sound devices. In the same window, what devices are selected for Microphone, Speakers, Ringing (and what devices are available for each of them)?
