I AM NOT EVEN A NEWBE YET, BECAUSE I HAVEN"T FIGURED OUT HOW TO INSTALL MY LINUX 8.0 THAT I JUST BOUGHT. I HAVE XP ON THE FIRST DRIVE OF MY COMPAQ PRESARIO 6010US AND WANT TO INSTALL LINUX ON SECOND DRIVE. BUT I THINK IT IS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MY NVIDIA G 2 INTERGRATED VIDEO, IT BEGINS TO START BUT THEN SCREEN GOES BLANK, TIME FOR THE CAVALRY TO ARRIVE I THINK!!!!!!!!!.

hi ALF829, the problem is that when i put the first cd in, it starts nicely , but after it finds nvidia, and the ganeric monitor( which is just a hp pavilion), the screen goes blank. and i know the moniter is still recieving , because the little green light stays on. :|

I've also had this problem installing linux with Nvidia GeForce 2 Go. What I did was when the installation prompt comes up, I types linux text to go into the text mode instead of using graphical installation mode.

After you've got linux setup, you will need to get the drivers from Nvidia's website and install them so that graphical display works correctly.
