Has autocad been ported to Linux?

Hi Folks,
I'm new here so you could see a few posts over the next few months as I am trying to find out if I can switch from MS Windows. My concern is wether I can run my existing software under Linux, so please bear with me.

Did you try Google? Plugging "autocad linux" into the search bar gave me a number of results. What I gleaned from them is that Autocad has not been ported to Linux, but some people have had success running it under WINE (a Windows compatibility layer for Linux). You could also switch to Linux but keep Windows running in VMWare for when you need to use something that just won't work in Linux.

It doesn't work right, in my experience.
However, for 2D we have programs like QCAD, and with 3D, for a SolidWorks replacement - there is VariCAD.
