Hardware: Sound setup

Ok, Slackware 13.37, KDE.

I'm using a dual-monitor setup with one monitor that's a TV using a DVI to HDMI setup. I have a Radeon HD 4670.

Now, I'm getting sound coming out of my videocard and into my TV (something I didn't actually know was possible until today), but I have no idea how to get my onboard soundcard running.

I don't even know where to start with this problem...

Any help?

If that's all the output you get, then alsa is only detecting the audio device on the video card. Do you know what the onboard audio chip is? What's the output of 'lspci' ?

Well, as you can see from the dmesg, there is one issue that the kernel is showing that is related to one of the high definition audio chips. All I can really suggest, then, is to perhaps try a newer kernel and see if it works any better.

How would I go about getting a newer Kernel? Isn't 13.37 the newest?

Also, I'm kind of new at this, but where do you see the kernel reporting an error? What does that look like? Could you quote the part that shows the error for me that way I know what I'm looking for if I have similar problems later?
