Hardware Detection
Dear All
How can I stop hardware auto-detection in boot up. This will increase my system boot up time. Thanks |
It helps if you tell us what distro you're using :)

I think what needs to be said is:
When your computer boots into Linux, a set of programs are run. If there are any that you know that you will not need (like kudzu, which is run to determine if you have added/removed any hardware), then you will need to change things. There are many programs around that give you a nice GUI interface to enable/disable these various processes upon startup... including things like Webmin. Have a poke around (as a normal user, not root) and see what is available to you. |
