Question Hard reboot: now unable to get into window managers on SuSE 9.o

After a system lockup I had to hard reboot (pressing reboot button) Now I am unable to log in to KDE, windowmaker and GNOME.

I get to the KDE login screen, but then the system crashes with an error message when I try to log in to any of those window managers.

I can log in to blackbox and a handfull of other misc window manager w/o any issues, however. Just the top three I can not log in.

Anybody know what I need to repair?

Knowing the error message might help in assessing
the cause of the problem ...

It gives my a signal 11 error for both windowmaker and KDE... it just hangs for GNOME... all other window managers are working just fine.... no errors.

Anything relevant in ~/.xsession-errors ?

Note: the file gets re-written on every graphical
login ...

Tink

I looks like it's only root that's been affected... my regular account is working just fine... hmmm?
