Hard Drive Space


This probably a really dumb question, but how do I check up on how much HD space I have?

try 'df'.this will give info about all the mounted partitions.ALso there are utilities like KDiskFree.(to run from command line,'kdf')

Kind of following on, how do I check up on how much space a particular directory tree is taking up?

Should that work on NTFS as well as ext*? Because it just returns 0 for everything on a NTFS partition.
