Ok, but I had also asked about your controller.
And you're not trying to do a simple installation, but it seems like you're trying to dual-boot both windows and linux, is that right? You also don't have to partition the drive before you install it...that's part of what the installer does, which is probably why it's not working.
The error you're getting probably isn't "can't find hard drive", but "can't find free space ON the hard drive". Remove both of the partitons you put on there, and leave the space unformatted and raw. The installer should work fine then.
