hard drive from abuntu laptop, need help asap
Hey guys I just started using Abuntu and love it I had a friend of mine put it on my toshiba tecra notebook. I had a water leak in my office and bricked my note book. I pulled the HD immediately and dried it out. I won't be getting a replacement for atleast a week how ever I neeeeeeed files from that drive now. I have a case that will use the HD as a usb external drive. Is there a way to get those files onto a windows note book( my only imediate option)
Thank you in advance and please keep in mind this all very new to me |
Depends on the formatting used. There is some software that makes it possible to read ext2/ext3 from windows.
google results for ext2 windows And the cynical me says "see my signature" |
Alternatively, you could use Ubuntu live CD on a computer where you'll be able to copy the files from your USB drive to a local (windows) drive.

The live CD solution might even be necessary / a better solution as it might be an ext4 file system.
