Hard disk problem


Hello Every One


I am getting below error messages in RHCL v 5 OS after this messages system will hang I need to hard reboot system to work normally . Please help me how to solve this problem

hda: status timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy }
ide: failed opcode was: unknown
hda: no DRQ after issuing MULTWRITE_EXT
ide0: reset: success

Hello,

Can you post some more information about your hardware? What type/make is your hard disk? Post output from:
Code:
hdparm -i /dev/hda
between [ CODE ] tags please.

Can you please post the hardware configuration also.

It seems to be only OS problem. Because when you'll replace the OS definitely you'll not get this problem.
Or you can update HDD & BIOS firmwares.

Try to run smartctl command:

I will try that command. Hope it will solve that problem or else I will reinstall os .

Have a look at this thread at CentOS forum. Looks like you're suffering from the same problem. Check post #9 in particular.
