where could I find the size of my hard disk having Kubuntu on it? And where could I find the used memory and the free memory?

Two commands:

"sudo fdisk -l" shows the size of your hard drive(s) as well as those of the partitions

"free" shows the amount of free and used memory

Code:
df -h
gives usage in KB, MB, GB, not blocks, so I find it more useful. Read the man page.

http://www.die.net/doc/linux/man/man1/df.1.html

as for memory... probably use top.

fdisk gives you the total size of the drive, including partitions and unpartitioned space

df gives you only the space used by the actual filesystems in use

du gives you the space used by individual files
