Hag Wol

Hi again,

I'm looking forward in the internet some stuff and solution to solve a wake-on-lan problem.

I cannot wake my Desktop (rhel6 on it) in my home lan because i was trying to understand how does it works but before doing anything i noticed that you should need a router, though, i've got an HAG .

There is a way to override this problem?

My target is to switch on my rhel6-desktop in my homelan via Windows7 laptop to avoid energy loss when i'm moving from home to other places.

Is Wake on LAN configured in the BIOS of your RHEL machine? I'm not sure what a HAG is. If you can already reach the other PC on the network, WOL should work.

Home Access Gateway, used by Fastweb provider for Internet Connection. Fastweb Lan are similar to Metropolitan LAN.

I guess it's just a device whom receive data and forward it to the provider's Lan and toward the Internet, nothing else.

The Bios has activated the WOL option.

When Desktop with RHEL it's off looks like there's no way to reach that.

Problem unsolved, yet unnecessary right now. Try again later
