.gvimrc perl Question


How do i use syntax highlighting for perl in .gvimrc?do i need to make my own .gvimrc file?


i am useing gvim 7.1

I have this section which provides the syntax highlighting. Putting it in .gvimrc will give it to your user, having it in /etc/gvimrc will do the trick systemwide.

" Switch on syntax highlighting if it wasn't on yet.
if !exists("syntax_on")
syntax on
endif

If you mean you want sytax for perl to be included with the syntax vim recognizes, I'm not sure how to go about that.

If you want to see what syntax files are already installed, try this dir
/usr/share/vim/vim70/syntax
or the nearest equiv for gvim.
On my system, Perl is std.
