Not sure what version of Mandrake you have, but could try using Webmin
. It's robust and can be used to remote manage your entire system using a web browser interface.
Once it's installed and running, can access webmin by using address "https://<insert ipaddress>:10000" with your favorite browser. In the server section of webmin, you should be able to see the icon for Apache.
My only caveat is Webmin should not be a tool for learning how to configure and administrate Apache, but a tool of convenience.
