i used partition magic, i didnt intentionally move the programs... i moved the windows partition the the end of my drive, to make room for the linux at the beginning...

also... i have another newbie question... i have been able to edit grub.conf in text mode in RH8, but am wondering how i save the changes i made.. thanks
