GTK+ make errors SuSe 9

I'm trying to install GIMP on my SuSe 9 (64-bit) machine for the simple reason that I'm such a newb, I haven't really installed anything...ever. GTK looked easy enough and with simple enough instructions to complete (ie tar it, unzip it, ./config it, make it, install it). Well....this is what I'm getting...and I did a quick search of the forums and an extensive search of google...still no luck...so I ask you this...I run ./configure without any problems...it runs flawless...when I run the make command, after a good little while (I'd say 3-5 minutes) I get these errors.
