Well as long as windows is intact and windows is the operating system you want to get back into then you can use a win98 floppy or similar and boot from it and do a
that will wipe the mbr and hopefully reset everything to get back into windows like normal. This means you loose grub and no longer are able to boot into linux using grub. This also is not foolproof since I have seen partition magic fubar things real good sometimes - not always PMs fault but indirectly related.
If you did not get a windows restore/install disk then you should of dug the files off of the recovery partition before messing around. Sounds like you wiped the recovery partition or unhid it so now everything is a bit messy. Usually the I386 folder is stored in there and it contains the stuff you need to reinstall windows.
As stated previously, a win98 boot floppy and a fdisk /mbr
should put things back to normal. Always a good step to start with trying to recover windows. Can also use a cd with a win98 boot floppy image burned to it. GOOD LUCK!
