grub stage 2 file on logical partition?
Can GRUB read its grub.conf from a logical partition, say, /dev/hda6 aka hd(0,5)?

PS: Logical partition would be created with PartitionMagic 8.0.
Decision:
I'll try doing the partitioning of the remaining space into three logical partitions (swap, /boot and /) from inside the RH9 installer. Hopefully it'll set up GRUB correctly or complain before making any changes to the MBR! Unfortunately, the first of the install CDs appears to be scratched, so it'll have to wait until tomorrow.
