GRUB rescue
 

I can't boot from USB or CD (checked the BIOS settings, checked the hardware connections, tried multiple CD's and flash drives), and my linux box is stuck on GRUB Rescue mode because I deleted the partition with the boot program on it. Is there any way I can wipe out my hard drive so I can boot fresh off a CD or USB? I've posted this before but I'm posting again with different wording with hopes of coming up with a solution.

You may wanna have the mods move this to a forum where it will get more exposure. Im thinking linux general would be a good place. You can request they move it by clicking on report and then asking nicely to have it moved somewhere.

You'll want to look for a procedure to re-install GRUB in the appropriate partition whicht should be possible though I don't know right now where to look exactly.

A different approach would be to try an install via network and there choose repair mode...

At the rescue prompt you, I think, need to manually create a set of grub references (see last poster's links) or use Gparted to remove the partition and start again but be careful where you put grub next time if you are multi-booting.
