GRUB question
Hiya,
I recently installed Mandrake 10.0. When the bootloader starts it shows several different options (linux, linux-secure, failsafe, windows, etc.) linux-secure is selected by default. I did not know what the others (besides linux-secure and windows) were so I removed them from the list (using Configure Your Computer from within X). My question is, what were those other options, and was it wise to remove them? |
they are simply other kernels
like kernel-smp kernel-scure kernel-default failsafe etc etc it depends on ur requirement which kernel u want to use like u would like to have a SMP(symm. multi. procc. )kernel if u have a server ,so if u want just a generic kernel and u can have that entry on grub but it safe to have one or more kernel on ur list which may help u in case of some problem regards gaurav |
