Grub problems please help me

okay I had redhat 7.2 running for a while but i had to boot from a flopy disk couldnt get grub or lilo to work. Then one day i cant boot from the flopy so i tried messing with grub and lilo to see if i could get them to work.... no dice my next step was go to fc3 well i installed it and grub and lilo wouldnt work but oh well because i got a new 3.5 disk and tried to make a new boot disk
well when i put the disk in and try to boot
it says
Kernel image not found.
boo:
i have to type vmlinuz to get it to boot
then i started to get kernel panics un able to mount file system on block 0,0) so i started playing around with it and got it to work
with root=/dev/hda1
after that i started getting a nother kernel panic
can not start inital console try passing the init= option.
so i am stuck here
so i started to play with grub and reconfigured it to look for root in the correct spot
now i get grub error 15
wich when i look it it means the kernel is not found and i should reinstall my kernel from what i have read so far

so please help

First, you'll get better help here if you make your questions more concise and avoid the long run-on sentences.

You didn't state if it is dual-boot.

If you dont have a lot of data on this system, it may be easier to just re-install from scratch. With Fedora, I think it should put grub on the HD with no issues.

If you DO re-install, consider Fedora 4

Whatever you do, give specific details next time---# and size of drives, partitions, dual-boot, etc.
