grub problem and looking for grub2 docs
Hi
Apparently my xp(32bit) and my fedora 5(amd64) grub do not like to coexist. I usually lose my xp boot (yea I know, linux is all one needs) with often the ntoskern file not able to be found. It is there however right where it says is it not. This is often after a kernel update. Grub is installed into(onto?) the mbr. The disc(80 new gig wd) has one primary partition(a fat32) and one logical. The logical partition has in this order a ntsf(xp), fat32(data partition , fedora root, fedora boot, linux swap ,xp swap and a acronics secure zone)I would like to read the grub2 docs but I not finding much. I would like to see if grub2 would help my problem. I have to keep xp for some programs not available in linux. I have succeeded in moving my wife to linux for the last few months but she never needs xp. I actually can not believe how much I learned in this last 6 to 8 months since I started down the path away from Microsoft. Oh any other suggestion concerning this is much appreciated. I am sure I am being an idiot somehow. Thanks to all. |
1. Make sure that the Windows XP partition has the active boot flag.
2. Post your /boot/grub/menu.lst here. :) |
