This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

hi guys i have problem in my Os .. i have dual boot win + ubuntu 11.04
when i make install burg-manager to change grub themes i lose the login screen
can you help to restore the login screen
thanks for help
burg is a brand-new boot loader based on GRUB. It uses a new object format which allows it to be built in a wider range of OS,including Linux/Windows/OSX/Solaris/FreeBSD, etc ,,there are amazing themes for splash iamge any way ,, i Install Burg in Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal then i make reboot it shoing only (grub mode) ,, i have dual boot win 7 + ubuntu 11.04 now can not login into the both sys
nope edd1 ..when you write sudo grub on terminal you will become in grub command ( grub> )right ,, so when i start my laptop shoing grub mode or grub command can not log into the system win 7 or ubuntu 11.04
For splash images with grub2 in Ubuntu, you could have downloaded and installed grub2-splashimages from the repositories. You can then use pretty much any image you want including your own. Pretty simple process.
Since you've installed burg, do you have the site you could post what you downloaded? Is there any documentation at their site? an faq?
Could you post the steps you took to install? Maybe someone who has used it would be able to help.
I don't really see anything on that site which Grub2 can't do. I'm sure there is more to burg than what is on this site. As I indicated above, it is very easy to change splashimages in Grub2 and detailed instructions are at the site I posted earlier.
However, since you already installed burg and can't boot anything now I think your best bet would be to post more detailed information as far as what exactly happened after each step/command indicaated in the site link you posted. If you don't remember, I'm not sure anyone will be able to help. I've not used burg so I won't make any suggestions.
