I'm not at all familiar with burg and what it does or should do. I'm also not clear on what your problem is. Were you trying to install or change the Grub splashimage??

Best I can do is to refer you to this tutorial on Ubuntu and Grub2:

This isn't a chat room. You have to wait, sometimes days, for an answer.

For splash images with grub2 in Ubuntu, you could have downloaded and installed grub2-splashimages from the repositories. You can then use pretty much any image you want including your own. Pretty simple process.

Since you've installed burg, do you have the site you could post what you downloaded? Is there any documentation at their site? an faq?
Could you post the steps you took to install? Maybe someone who has used it would be able to help.

I don't really see anything on that site which Grub2 can't do. I'm sure there is more to burg than what is on this site. As I indicated above, it is very easy to change splashimages in Grub2 and detailed instructions are at the site I posted earlier.

However, since you already installed burg and can't boot anything now I think your best bet would be to post more detailed information as far as what exactly happened after each step/command indicaated in the site link you posted. If you don't remember, I'm not sure anyone will be able to help. I've not used burg so I won't make any suggestions.
