Grub or Lilo better ?
which one better ?
|
yes :D
Actually, I personally like Grub better. I know Lilo is easier, but Grub just looks so much prettier and I've never been bothered to change the look of Lilo |
there is no "better" but grub is basically the nu-skool loader. Newer, a little cryptic to configure but does IMHO make more sense than lilo, which i actually only deviated from yesterday. also a lot lot easier to personalise grub. but lilo is very easy to configure and more comfortable to play with i guess. i'd say grub now...

I recommend GRUB...i spent hours trying to get my slackware to dual boot with xp and it wouldn't work. Tried grub for the first time...it works like a charm :)

This question seem to draw the same fire as "which distro", "which editor".
I have used Lilo since I have been using a Linux bootloader (a few years). I like it better than System Commander (as a boot loader) since it does not recheck on every startup. It either works or it does not. I find it simple and easy to use. I did not enjoy my one brush with Grub as I do not know how to use it. Lilo gets my vote as long as it stays current with hardware etc... |
