Grub not showing after Windows update to 8.1. Boot Repair won't fix it.
Hi all,
As the title suggests, after Windows updated to 8.1, the grub2 menu is no longer displayed on startup, instead Windows runs automatically. I ran boot-repair on Linux and it says: "An error occurred during the repair." The URL provided is http://paste2.org/LALNbE22. I already sent an e-mail to boot.repair@gmail.com, but I was hoping you guys could tell me what to do from here. Thank you, Daniel Caetano |

Thanks for replying, linosaurusroot.
I followed the procedures, created the USB pen drive with YUMI containing Super Grub Disk, and made sure UEFI and fast startup was disabled, as you can see in the pictures attached. http://i.imgur.com/40loMix.png (YUMI) http://i.imgur.com/uLUZSGX.png (Fast startup disabled) http://i.imgur.com/0O99ptU.jpg (Legacy boot enabled, boot order shows USB on top) Still, on startup it always goes straight to Windows, and I can't manage to boot it from USB. Am I missing something? |
Have you used fdisk to make the USB bootable?
