GRUB not booting kernel correctly

Hi, I recently installed Slackware on my Toshiba laptop and I'm having some problems. As far as I can tell my Slackware installation went fine, I chose not to install LILO and instead installed GRUB 2.00. I then rebooted when prompted to after the install, and GRUB loaded up upon reboot without error. However when I started loading Slackware I got a "KERNEL PANIC-UNABLE TO SYNC VFS-UNABLE TO MOUNT ROOT TO UNKNOWN BLOCK (0, 0)" error. I'm at a loss for what to do, please give me some suggestions, thanks.

Try some of the other options. I think grub will listed 3 of them try them all.

KERNEL PANIC-UNABLE TO SYNC VFS-UNABLE TO MOUNT ROOT TO UNKNOWN BLOCK (0, 0)

This means GRUB loaded your kernel but your kernel is unable to access the hard drive controller. Wild guess, because initrd is not loaded.

Booting with the huge kernel doest required initrd. I think he should try the options from GRUB.

without knowing the partition layout, what is in the grub.cfg, it will be hard to determine what the problem is.
