GRUB GRUB......(infinity) ????

Hey guys, I'm a total Linux newb but trying to get onboard, so I installed SuSE 9 on my laptop alongside win2kpro (seperate partitions). But on the 2nd disc of SuSE I started getting errors and aborted, then went about cleaning up any trace of it. I booted to sys commander utils and deleted all the partitions SuSE had made, then resized my win2kpro partition back to full size. Thought that would take care of it, but it didn't; now when my lappy boots I get a black screen that says 'GRUB GRUB _(blinking cursor)' and it just sits there. PLEASE tell me how to get rid of that and back to the way my lappy was before I attempted the SuSE install! TIA :]

Boot to a windows command prompt with a rescue disk(even a windows 95 rescue disk will work), and type "fdisk /mbr" or "fixmbr".

yeah, when you installed suse, it must have overwrote the MBR (Main Boot Record). when you (re)format it as njbrain said, it will remove all traces of grub, abd it will work.
just a little clarification as to why this happened, in case you wanted to know.
