Grub failure on EeePC Eeebuntu

Hey everyone. I recently got my EEEPC and wanted to get linux on it. So I did some looking around and this Eeebuntu seems to be the best fit. I'm having some issues here though. I poked around on the Ubuntu site (because I have limited experience there) and googled and searched this forum. I found several solutions but none worked.

Ilimited my swap to 1 gig, I created a home partition and a 10gb "/" partition I tried super grub and came back to the error 15 not so lucky grub boot i have dont largest continous install. Manual install and an install side by side.... I swallowed 3 screams and the urge to chuck this pretty little netbook but the ubuntu on my dell laptop has renewed my hope... somewhat.

As of right now I'm booting from a live cd in an external DVD drive. I will note that my installs get to 94% or so before the fatal grub error and super grub in its cd form can boot it but super grub boot through uboot cannot. nor can it install or fix grub.

So here is where we stand my current FDisk

and here is the error

a final note the drive on here was originally partitioned into 1 75gb with xp 1 75gb empty and 5gb or something with the recovery area. And if it is not clear yet I am attempting to dual boot the two. Any and all help will be appreciated

Wink You can google EEEUbuntu Ubiquity Grub Error

I don't run any Ubuntus on my EEEPC 900. (you never stated what model EEEpc you have, There are tons of different models. None are the same internally also.)

So this is what google gave me

http://forums.eeebuntu.org/viewtopic...t=5653&p=28051

http://forums.eeebuntu.org/viewtopic...t=5080&p=27415

They are basically stating you need to hit the advanced tab during grub install and point grub to sda instead of hda. Read the threads
thoroughly.

Edit: If it was me. I would delete all Linux Partitions and start from scratch with a new reinstall. I think though you should be able to reinstall grub using the Live run of EEEubuntu though. But not sure how with Grub 2 though.

Happy Trails and Good Luck with it, Rok
