GRUB error 22
ive done almost exactly the same thing.
i recently deleted my windows to make ubuntu my primary and only OS. then i decided i'd give Kubuntu a go, to see if it was better. so i resized and formatted up 10Gb and installed it. then i realized it wasnt all that good and deleted the partition and added it back onto my ntfs backup partition. now when i power on it comes up with grub error 22 i am currently using live cd, hope someone can help |
ok. With your live CD, you need to install Grub onto the boot partion. (MBR) There are lots of tutorials around, I'll try and find one but I'm sure your google skills are fine. :)
That's the first step, we'll see what happens after that. titanium_geek |
Hi, welcome to LQ!
And please don't reanimate 3 year corpses. :) In a case like this it's better to start a new thread. Cheers, Tink |
Presumably you still have/want Ubuntu as your system of choice ???.
From the liveCD open a terminal and enter this - post all the output, and indicate (if necessary) which partition is your Ubuntu system Code:
sudo fdisk -l |
Sorry Guys
Sorry Guys, false alarm.
my documents are the only thing thats important to me and i had them backed up. Just re-installed and all is fine now. sorry i didn't wait but I'm impatient like that, i wasn't expecting so many replies so quickly. I'll definatley use these forums again but for less trivial matters. thanks for the help anyway. |
