GRUB Error 17 .. and the PC freezes
 

HI

Using Windows XP Pro and PCLinuxOS on the same PC with GRUB as bootloader.
Working splendidly for several months until today.
When booting it says: GRUB loading and then ERROR 17 and freezes. How do I get back to my system ?

What, if any, configuration files did you edit the last time the computer was booted?

Also, boot a liveCD and get the output of 'fdisk -l' and the contents of /etc/fstab and /boot/grub/menu.lst and post them here.

googling shows that this error may be due to the BIOS configuration:
