GRUB Crashed??


One of my colleague is facing issue related to grub.He screwed the server and can now only see grub> on his machine?
What steps he need to follow to get back the server to its original healthy condition?

Pls Help

Boot with a rescue cd.

So what did he do, what did he change? What makes you think it's a grub issue? Just because grub is all that comes up? If he deleted the / partition grub would be the only thing to come up. So please give more relevant information. What error does grub give?

Like mrrangerman mentioned, might not be a grub issue. Grab the original install cd's (most come with a rescue option during boot up), boot into rescue mode, find the real issue. There's only two steps right now, find cd, boot from cd into rescue mode. Report back if you're at a lost from there.
