GRUB Configuration Help
I'm running Redhat9 (kernel 2.4.20-20.9) and am having problems dual booting between Linux and Win2k.
Linux and Windows are on seperate harddrives, the Linux disc residing as the primary master on IDE1 and the Windows disc residing on the SATA controller. (I've got an Abit KD7-G board with the Silicon Image controller on it.) I've heard that the 2.4 kernel of Linux does not support SATA devices and that I'll just have to wait for the 2.6 kernel to be released with the Fedora version of RH. Is this true or is there a way around this? Bear in mind that I'm a linux :newbie: so try to be as specific/detailed as possible in your replies please! This was my first install... Thanks! |

kernels source trees installed, but the 2.4.21 stock-kernel for instance DOES have SATA support. Cheers, Tink |

I'd suggest installing the kernel-sources that
come with your/for your distro, and have a look at http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Kernel-HOWTO/ on how to set your kernel up. Cheers, Tink |
