im sooo cunfused... that didnt work.... i cant access a few files... they have locks on them.

open up a terminal, type "su", then the root password
in the same terminal window, type "nautilus" or "konqueror", then do your editing.
when you 'su' its only valid within that terminal session, if you open another it wont have any affect on it (same goes for opening an application outside that terminal you su'ed)

ok so when i open konquerer what do i do then?

how can i get the locks off the folders and files..???

and also... if i make a folder on my desktop with another folder in it... then i try to open that files on the folder.... it sys i dont have the permissions to open it.. then i move it to desktop and i can open it. BAH!!!
