I followed a "How to" here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/In...n/FromUSBStick on making a thumbdrive that I could use instead of a CD to install Ubuntu.
I believe that I followed it to the letter and have retried several times but each time, when I boot from the drive it goes to a black screen with white writing which says:
Quote:
GNU Grub version 0.97 (639K lower / 514304K upper memory)
[Minimal Bash-like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completions. Anywhere else, TAB lists the possible completions of a device/filename.]
Grub>_
|
The questions is, what do I need to type at the Grub command prompt, to begin the installation?
The version that I copied to the thumbdrive is ubuntu-9.04-server-i386.iso and I copied it using the UNetBootin method, as detailed in the tutorial.
Please help! It's gone 2am in the morning here and I've got to get this server built and working as a proxy by the morning! Thanks :-)
