Most times, if you get the GRUB prompt, it means that GRUB cannot find the kernel either because the boot configuration script was not created or AsteriskNow and/or Trixbox uses a kernel naming convention unknown to GRUB.

What version of GRUB do these use? What drive and partitions were these installed on?

Then you need to install GRUB all over again.

Installing Windows after any Linux distro will result in the Linux bootloader being overwritten by he Windows bootloader. The Windows bootloader does not recognize any Linux distro.

If you want a dual boot configuration, it best to install Windows before any Linux distro.

A quick check on DistroWatch.com show that both AsteriskNow and Trixbox uses GRUB legacy (0.97). I'm only familiar with GRUB2 as I've never had the cause to use GRUB legacy.

There are numerous resources on the internet that may help you configure GRUB legacy.

Here's a link to it's manual:
http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/man...gacy/grub.html
