How to retrieve Windows XP MBR after installing Linux ?

What did you like to do to uninstall linux ?
Because only putting back Windows xp MBR the partition used by linux is still occupied by linux to my knowledge windows xp can not formatted the linux partition.Or do like to get a dual boot ?
Do you have windows xp install cd ? In that case using the repair option
fixMBR will put MBR back
Same LInux distro also can boot back MBR

So if you give a more specific question the answer is more easy

He never said anything about uninstalling Linux...

To the OP:
Boot of a windows/dos disk and run
fdisk /fixmbr or fdisk /newmbr respectively.

If you don't have one, google for it. There's
of them out there for download.
