group permission the sticky bit permission comes in capital 'S'
I need help wrt default file permissions.
In the group permission the sticky bit permission comes in capital 'S', because of this group members are not able to even read the respective files.
drwxrwSr-x 2 <username> <foldername> 4096 Mar 23 18:50 <filename>
We want to be able to give group permission to files to read or write as applicable, please help.
I am using linux RH5.0 server,
Thanks and Regards,

The capital S means the underlying "x" is not set. Use chmod g+x yourdirname to fix it. The capital S will then change to a lower case s.
Without the "x" on the directory, your users can't access it and the files contained in it.
