Graphic card troubles

Hi everybody!
I just installed ubuntu 10.10.
I tryed tu upgrade to vers. 11.04 or Kubuntu, but my pc, a 8 years old machine with a Celeron 2.80 mhz and an integrate Via S3G unichrome pro igp as graphic card, doesn't work. Exactly during the upgrade to the 11.04 vers. the download window tell me there was problems for installation of some files. Is there anybody who can help me? I'm thinking to change my graphic card...can I solve the problem, or I have to change the hardware?
