how would i go about letting a user have access to /fat-c?

im on slackware 9.1 and here is my fstab
i want them to access the hda1

is there a way to copt a users prefs to another user?

because i was using root when i first started and i have configured it all well n good (GNOME)
and i want to make the prefs copy over to a user 'n0x'

any ideas?

Mabe if you edit like this:

/dev/hda1 /fat-c vfat user 1 0

You can also try to check what perms are set to the dir /fat-c. I've seen cases in where these perms were the problem.

"cd" to / and then do a
ls -l |grep fat-c
and post here the result.



To copy the prefs, as root, do this (notice, I'm not sure about it):

- Create the new user nOx
- As root, go to root home and copy the dir .gnome (where are all the prefs)
- Go to nOx home and paste it.
- Now you have to change all perms to own the dirs and files to nOx

If it doesn't work, just remove the dirs you pasted.
