grafic problem linux mint (xfile fail)
hi im a total newbie that just installed linux mint cinnamon from usb.
when i stated it first time i got grafic fail message it said x-file fail there is a problem whith your grafic interface. i entered some command i dont remember now from some forum and i managed to start up. but now my screen is glitching and pixels are failing. i tried lots of commands from forums around but it seem like maybie i need other commands for differnt computers? only used windows before so im a bit lost im using a acer aspire V whith Radeon HD 8750 |
You cannot type Windows commands into into Linux and expect anything to happen.
Linux, strangely enough, only accepts Linux commands. On the first boot of the USB to get you a desktop and try out Mint, did you get any problems? Did you try to proceed and install it to disk? It seems possible that your download to your USB may be corrupt. |
yes. i have installed linux and the commands i tryed where defenetly for linux mint also.
when the install was done i got the message x-file corrupted there is a problem whith your interface so i tryed some commands i found in other threads here and managed to start up linux my problem is that my grafics are stange now, pixels are moving around and some stuff is unreadeble i also tyred to swith betwen the different drivers in the systemsettings but no differens any suggestions? |

my grafiks card a AMD/ATI richland Radeon HD 8450G prog-if 00 VGA controller and im on a laptop Acer Aspire V5 552g i got this messegae when i started up linux and i found a command when i where googeling the problem but when i got it started the grafics where fuckd but i can still use it i tried commands like sudo killall Xorg sudo Xorg -configure sudo cp /root/xorg.conf.new /etc/X11/xorg.conf sudo reboot and sudo Xorg -configure sudo cp /home/mint/xorg.conf.new /etc/X11/xorg.conf sudo reboot |
