GPT Partition support in Linux, more specifically Fedora Core 8

I have an LaCie external HDD. It has an GPT partition which I had no problem using in MacOS. I know that only Win XP 64 and Vista support GPT Partitions. Does Fedora Core 8 support GPT partitions? And if yes, will it automatically mount the volume or will I have to do some advanced things to get it to work?

Thank you!

Welcome to LQ!

Linux kernel has support for EFI GPT. I'm not aware whether Fedora developers have it included or not.
You can enable it in kernel configuration:
File Systems ---> Partition Types ---> EFI GUID Partition Support.
