Question GPROF : how to profile calls to individual object files

hi all,

I have a huge application which makes calls to many object files. I want to profile any one file such that when my application calls a function from this .o file , a gmon.out is generated for this particular object file. so everytime my application calls this object , i need the profile for this particular call and not all other calls that my application does.

thanks.
