Gparted Problem, Scans Devices For Long Time

I just installed Gparted in Ubuntu via Synaptic and it just scans the devices for too long so i quit, any ideas why this doesnt load up my partition table and partitions?

Gparted checks the filesystems of the partitions and this can take a while. Be patient, it is a great tool.
